Where Do I Begin…?

Fitness for me has been a journey…

It started 10 years ago and at first didn’t really get me anywhere. I just did what my friends were doing. Some bench press, some curls and a little cardio. I definitely never trained legs, that shit was way too hard!

Surprisingly (or maybe not), I was still a weak looking dude who was more concerned about being home in time to meet up with friends for some late night video game action.

Joining the Navy

I joined the US Navy after high school and I thought it would take my fitness to a new level. Spoiler alert – it didn’t!

The Navy fitness “experts” in truth knew very little. So I started reading as much as I could online and in any fitness magazines I laid my hands on.

I realized that every website and magazine had its own experts who claimed to be the foremost authority on a certain subject (fat loss, muscle gain, functional training, etc.). And while they all wrote about similar things, most of the time they contradicted each other.

This, combined with a hefty dose of plain misinformation, was crippling my progress. Do I lift heavy for small reps or light for more reps? Do I need to stretch before or after my workouts? Do I do steady state cardio or sprints?

I’ve tried it all, but wasn’t consistent enough to see any results.

Finally…

The Light at The End of The Tunnel

But everything changed when I tore my ACL and meniscus while doing some squats on my ship as it was rocking out at sea. My knee was totally shot and I went through several surgeries to fix as much damage as possible.

Going through the recovery process was a very dark time for me. The genuinely poor treatment I received from the Navy medical staff filled me with frustration, anger and hopelessness.

Getting little help from anyone and not going with the “you’ll never lift again” thing, I took my recovery into my own hands.

I stopped reading garbage website and magazines and began to seriously research the fundamentals of strength training, kinesiology and nutrition.

I applied what I learned to my own training program

I started seeing fantastic results in my strength and conditioning. I not only recovered from my knee injury, but took my physique to a level I never thought possible.

None of it was easy. But through my journey, I not only built my body, but became more confident and happy with my life. Strength training really does change you, and always for the better.

It’s All About Helping Others.

Lifting weights changed my life in more ways than I can count. And I’m stoked that I now get to help people just like you to change theirs.

I’ve been helping people lose weight, build muscle and live healthier lives for over 5 years and now do it full time.

Running this site…

allows me to help a lot more people than I could in person and I love it!

I’m not like a lot of the so-called fitness “experts” or “gurus” out there. I don’t claim to know everything or be the expert in the “only fat loss method you need to know”.

Socrates once said that “The only true wisdom is in knowing that you know nothing.” I take this quote to heart, because while I’m not an expert in all that is fitness, I am aware enough to not settle for the knowledge that I have. Fitness and nutrition is a journey of constant knowledge, which I take very seriously.

I invite you on this journey with me and maybe on the way I can help you lose a few pounds, gain some muscle and get sexier. Go here if you’re ready to get started.

See you on the path towards a better life!
